Other UV Applications
Automotive
The application of UV curing on automotive parts including interior (visible to passengers) components, exterior parts and components, anything under hood (not visible to passengers), lighting (headlamps, side and rear lighting), wheels, glass (windshields, mirror material), etc.
Coil Coating
Primers and topcoats on hot dip galvanized, electro galvanized and other types of coil steel and aluminium substrates used in appliances, architectural applications, electrical (transformers), automotive (weldable).
Composites
UV curing of fibreglass composite laminates and gel coats for automotive parts, boats, personal watercraft, recreational vehicles, structural components, poles, pipes and basic FRP mat & fiber materials. Applicable to process of open and closed moulding, preform, pultrusion and filament winding.
Converting – Coating
The application of coating on films, paper, etc. for flexible packaging, solar/window films, RTA furniture and wood frame mouldings, thermal transfer ribbons/paper, functional films for LCD display.
Digital Printing
Digital toner and liquid ink jet imaging for any type of printed products : wide format, graphics, marking, envelope/postage, textiles, press add-ons, drop on demand, etc.
Flooring
Typically this is clear topcoat on vinyl sheets and tiles used for flooring ; it may also include pigmented coatings.
Glass & Ceramic
UV curing of any coatings and decoration on bottles, tumblers, mirrors, beakers, ceramic tiles, china and dishware. Glass Fiber, Ribbon & Cable Optical fiber coloring, multi-fiber ribbon and pultruded central support rods.
Metal Decorating & Coating
Curing graphics and coatings on metal parts such as aerosol cans, food cans, battery cases, beer and beverage containers. This includes rim coating for beverage cans.
Metal Wire & Cable
The application of coating or marking on any kind of wire or cable such as magnet wire, insulated cable, champagne/wine wire mesh closures, clothes hangers, flower picks, spiral notebook binding, staples, etc.
Non-Curing Applications
Activation of coatings or other applications not involving polymerisation such as water and air treatment.
Plastic Container/Decoration
Screen and offset printed decoration of plastic containers such as cosmetic and beverage bottles, yoghurt cups, toothpaste tubes, etc.
Plastic Deco, Coating & Assembly
Decoration, coating or assembly of plastic substrates such as optical lenses, construction materials, office furniture, industrial lighting, snowmobiles, watercraft, cell phones, PDAs, computers, etc.
Pipe Coating
Typically this is a functional coating, but may also include pigmented coatings on galvanized or other pipes for fence posts, conduit, steel and alloy tubes.
Pressure Sensitive Adhesives
The application of pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) to paper, film, etc. to produce tapes (transfer tapes, medical tapes, free film adhesive tapes) and labels.
Siliconizing
Application (in air or nitrogen atmosphere) of release coatings on papers, films to create release liners. These are typically used as the backing material for peel off labels, stickers, etc.
Stereolithography
Using a photopolymer to create 3D prototypes (via CAD data) and building up the part layer by layer.
Textiles & Fabrics
Treatment of woven and non woven of textile fibers and fabrics for improved processing or other properties.
UV Activated Oxygen Scavenging
Activation (not curing) of coatings on packaging for the purpose of scavenging oxygen in such products as food cartons, bottles, cups and flexible packages, medical test strip and packaging and other pharmaceutical, electronics, etc.
Wood
Curing of coating or fillers on wood substrates such as moulding, picture frames, particleboard, MDF sheets, doors, RTA, case goods, chairs, general furniture, etc.
